We are adding a new name to list of manufacturers. NZXT has invited us to have look at their latest air cooler release, the NZXT Havik 140. Here we have another great company from sunny California. Seems like the sun is good for people. The 2004 Los Angeles startup will soon celebrate it's first decade anniversary in business and is going strong with all visible signs pointing up. The NZXT Havik 140 was anticipated and well received in the enthusiast community. NZXT also release the same cooler with a 120mm fan setup which is called the NZXT Havik 120.
NZXT's emphasizes that their product are build by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Build quality, design, performance and functionality are all corner stones of the companies vision to building enthusiast oriented products. The Havik 140 is one of few cooler using the larger 140mm fans. It is becoming more frequent now that we come across coolers with larger fans. There are advantages to be had. Not only does it allow for a larger surface area to be covered but it also allows the fan to spin slower while performing about the same as a 120mm fan which can result in a significant noise reduction. The Havik 140 not only use a larger fan but two of them. This should really make for a good performance and low noise. Taking a first look at the cooler itself will let you know right away that NZXT is not just blowing hot air. This is a very solid build with good materials used and with a solid manufacturing process.
